LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Averett University men's lacrosse team opened the 2022 season with a 11-6 win over Randolph College on Saturday night. 
Averett (1-0) saw sophomore 
Connor Taff lead all scorers with four goals willing the Cougars to victory. Seniors, 
Parker Corbett and 
Mike Michaud added two goals apiece. 
Randolph (0-2) scored its first two goals of the game with a man-up. Averett rattled of three goals in a row after the second man-up goal from the Wildcats. 
The Cougars outscored Randolph in each quarter and also tallied two man-up goals throughout the ballgame. 
Senior 
Caleb Chester earned 14 saves in the win for Averett.
The Cougars return to action next Saturday, Feb. 26 when they host Warren Wilson College for the home opener at 4 p.m.
