LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Averett University women's tennis program notched its first victory of the year 9-0 over Randolph College on Saturday afternoon.
Averett rolled winning every singles match in striaght sets. At No. 1 singles, freshman
Maxence Lippens won the first singles match of the day 6-1, 6-0. Senior
Inka Zeilstra earned 6-1, 6-0 victories at No. 2 singles while sophomore
Paula Ryhsen won 7-6, 6-0 in one of the closest matches of the day at No. 3 singles.

Linnea Sjostrom Krook also all picked up wins for the Cougars in singles action.
Averett also dominated doubles taking every match. In No. 1 doubles, Lippens and freshman
Megan Lombardt cruised to a 8-1. At No. 2 doubles, Zeilstra and Gunning rolled to a 8-1 victory while Ryhsen and Garcia earned a 8-0 victory at the No. 3 doubles.
The Cougars are back in action when they travel to Shaw University on March 4 at 2 p.m.
