FERRUM, Va. — The Averett University women's lacrosse team rolled past non-conference foe Ferrum College 14-9 on Sunday night.

Averett (1-1) fell down 2-0 to Ferrum (0-2) but scored the next three to take the lead with 2:28 left in the first quarter. The teams headed into halftime all knotted up, 5-5. The Cougars saw five different players find the back of the net on the night.Â

Averett got rolling in the second half outscoring Ferrum 9-4 throughout the two quarters.Â

Elizabeth Peasley scored four goals while freshman
Faith Bowlin also scored four goals and added seven ground balls. Junior
Raven Felder tallied three goals with an assist which was only one of three team assists the Cougars had on the night.Â

Juniors
Kelsey Steckroth and
Adriana Perez combined for three goals and two assists, respectively.Â
Sophomore
Kaylee Joblon, who just passed 100 career saves, tallied 15 in her first win of the season.Â

Averett returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Randolph College at 4 p.m. on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.Â
