Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, VA. — The Averett University women's tennis program dropped a non conference match against the University of Mary Washington 9-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Averett (1-2) saw freshman
Maxence Lippens battle through the tightest singles match of the day as she fell 2-6, 6-0, and 10-6 in the No. 1 singles slot. Nationally ranked Mary Washington (4-1) won all the other singles matches in straight sets.
Lippens was also a part of the closest doubles match up at No. 1 doubles as her and fellow freshman
Megan Lombardt fell 8-4.
The Cougars are back in action when they begin USA South play March 19 against William Peace University at home.
