SWEET BRIAR, Va. — The Averett University women's tennis program dropped a non conference match against Sweet Briar College 9-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Dennis Van Der Meer Tennis Center.
Averett (2-3) saw freshman
Maxence Lippens battle through one of the tightest singles as she fell 3-6, 6-3 and 10-5 in the No. 1 singles slot. Sweet Briar (10-2) won four of the other singles matches in straight sets. Senior
Inka Zeilstra fell 6-4, 3-6 and 11-13 in the biggest singles battle of the day.
The Vixens also swept the Cougars in doubles action.
The Cougars are back in action Tuesday when they travel to Virginia Wesleyan University at 3 p.m.
