VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Averett University women's tennis program earned a 9-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan University on Tuesday afternoon.
Averett rolled winning every singles match in straight sets but one match. At No. 1 singles, freshman
Maxence Lippens won the first singles match of the day 6-3, 6-3. Senior
Inka Zeilstra earned a 6-2, 6-0 victories at No. 3 singles while sophomore
Paula Ryhsen won 6-2, 1-6, and 10-7 in the closest match of the day at No. 2 singles.

Linnea Sjostrom Krook also all picked up wins for the Cougars in singles action.
Averett also dominated doubles taking every match. In No. 1 doubles, Lippens and Krook cruised to a 8-0 win. At No. 2 doubles, Zeilstra and Gunning rolled to a 8-0 victory as well as while Ryhsen and Garcia earned a 8-1 victory at the No. 3 doubles.
The Cougars are back in action when they host Salem College on Saturday March 26 at 2 p.m.
