BUENA VISTA, Va. — Averett University women's lacrosse saw its seven-game win streak come to an end Tuesday afternoon after falling to Southern Virginia University 20-9.
Averett
(11-4, 8-2 USA South) went back and forth with Southern Virginia (9-6, 8-1Â USA South) in the first quarter and took a 3-2 before giving up back to back goals and trailing 4-3 to end the period.
The Cougars were outscored 15-5 through the second and third quarters, proving to be the difference for the Knights.Â

freshman Faith Bowlin scored two goals and added an assist.
Averett will likely host a USA South quarterfinals match up in the conference tournament on Tuesday.
