DANVILLE, Va. — The Averett University women's lacrosse team earned a dominating 17-7 USA South quarterfinal tournament win over Huntingdon College on Tuesday afternoon on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.

The Cougars jumped out on Huntingdon (6-10) 7-1 in the first quarter and headed into the halftime break leading 11-3.

Kelsey Steckroth earned four draw controls while also scoring two goals and adding two assists.
The Cougars are back at in action for the USA South semifinals Friday when they take on Southern Virginia at 6 p.m. in Raleigh at the host site Meredith College.
