STAUNTON, Va. - The Averett University women's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road to Mary Baldwin on Wednesday.
Averett (2-5-1, 0-1 ODAC) and Mary Baldwin (6-2-1, 1-0 USA South) would go into halftime scoreless. Th Cougars would register five shots in the first half.
Neither team would score until the 83rd minute of play when the Fighting Squirrels would net the game winner. Mary Baldwin would net one more goal in the 87th minute of play to bring the final game score to 2-0.
Junior
Alyson Kinkopf collected nine saves between the pipes, bringing her season total to 25.
Offensively, the Cougars recorded five shots on goal with two of those coming from sophomore
Celia de Diego.
Averett is back in action this weekend when they travel to University of Lynchburg, kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
