DESTIN, Fla. — Sophomore
Max Pettersson hit a hole-in-one on his way to a fourth-place finish as No. 18 Averett University men's golf completed action at the Golfweek October Classic on Tuesday on the par-71, 6,621-yard course at Raven Golf Club.

Pettersson moved up three spots during the final 18 holes of the 54-hole event with a 2-under-par 69 on Tuesday. Pettersson finished the tournament at 3-under, seven shots behind medalist Cameron Cappuzzo of No. 2 Methodist University who overtook No. 5 Carnegie Mellon University's Justin Chan on the final day.

Methodist won the tournament featuring many of the top NCAA Division III teams in the country by 17 strokes. The Monarchs shot 9-under as a team.

Averett shot a collective 36-over 888 to finish 19th in the strong field of 25 teams.

Pettersson had Averett's top individual score during the final round with his 69 that included an ace on No. 12. Pettersson was one of two golfers to get a hole-in-one on that hole this week.

John Keba finished at 8-over for a top-40 finish. Graduate student
Caleb Kimbrough, a past winner of the tournament, shot 15-over and junior
Killian O'Reilly finished at 19-over. Sophomore
Miguel Rodriguez Lamana also competed for Averett.

Averett is scheduled to finish its fall season at the Chick-fil-A Invitational hosted by Berry College from Oct. 23-24.
