VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Averett University women's soccer held Virginia Wesleyan University scoreless for nearly 70 minutes before falling 3-0 on the road.
Virginia Wesleyan (8-2, 3-0 ODAC)Â scored its first goal early in the 70th minute of play, The Marlins scored two more goals in the 80th minute and the 88th minute to bring the final score to 3-0.
Freshman Olivia Appelburg recorded the Cougars lone shot on goal in the 78th minute. Freshman
Tiia Chrons recorded 14 saves over 17 shots on goal for the Cougars.
Averett is back in action Tuesday at Ferrum Collehe at 5 p.m.
