DANVILLE, Ky. - Averett University women's basketball fell to Centre College 74-37 on Friday in its first game of the Lee's Famous Recipe/Hampton Inn Classic hosted by Centre.
Centre (3-0) jumped out to a 21-0 lead over Averett (1-4) to start the game. The Cougars tried to mount a comeback in the second, scoring 14 points.
Sophomore
Elisa Harris had a team-high 13 points for the Cougars while senior
Talia Prosper had a second-best six points. Three Cougars pulled down a team-high four rebounds. As a team Averett pulled down 39 rebounds, seven steals to go with three three-pointers.
The Cougars are back in action tomorrow at 1 p.m. against Oglethorpe to wrap up play at the Lee's Famous Recipe/Hampton Inn Classic.
