DANVILLE, Va. - The Averett University men's lacrosse team fell to Virginia Wesleyan University in non-conference action at home on Friday night by a score of 17-3.
Averett (2-3, 0-1 ODAC) junior
Connor Taff scored the opening goal at 11:22 in the first, less than a minute later Virginia Wesleyan (4-1) tied-up the game at 1-1, the beginning of seven unanswered Marlin goals to pull away from the Cougars. Virginia Wesleyan took a 10-2 lead into halftime before scoring seven goals in the second half to bring the final game score to 17-3.

Jay Etheridge, freshmen Angel Roman Pascual and
Mike Hernandez each had a caused turnover. Freshman
Cameron Shadduck went 7-23 from the faceoff circle with four ground balls.

Cameron Prutzman totaled 21 saves.
Averett is back in action next Saturday when they host William Peace University at 5:30 p.m. in non-conference action.
