DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's lacrosse remained undefeated with a 13-4 victory over Ferrum College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Wednesday on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.

Averett (7-0, 2-0 ODAC) overcame a slow start as Ferrum (4-5, 0-2) raced out to a 3-1 lead early on in the first quarter. Senior

Elizabeth Peasley fired off a goal before the end of the period to put the Cougars up 4-3. Averett scored three goals in the first the three minutes of the second quarter to help establish an 8-4 halftime lead.

The Cougars held Ferrum scoreless the rest of the game as Averett tacked on five more goals over the final two quarters.
Felder finished with a team-high four goals and one assist. Peasley and sophomore
Faith Bowlin each recorded a hat trick along with an assist each. Senior

Irenia Torre each added a goal as well for the Cougars, who continued their best start in program history.
Peasley's three goals give her 355 for her career, leaving her seven shy of third place all-time in NCAA Division III career goals scored.
Junior
Porsha Davis led the Cougars with eight ground balls, sophomore
Kat Jay had a team-best six caused turnovers. Jay chipped in five ground balls and junior goalkeeper
Kaylee Joblon made four saves on the night.
Averett returns to action on Saturday when the Cougars travel to the University of Lynchburg for an ODAC matchup.
