Women's tennis falls to No. 25 Washington and Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. - Averett University women's tennis team fell for the first time this season to No. 25 Washington and Lee University on the road 9-0 Friday.

Averett (7-1, 3-1 ODAC)  saw junior Daniela Poulakidas with the tightest singles match of the day as she fell 4-6, 7-6 (4-7) at No. 6 singles. Nationally ranked Washington and Lee (10-4, 7-0 ODAC) won all other singles matches in straight sets also.

Averett is back in action when it travels to Roanoke College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
