DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's lacrosse lost its regular season finale 21-11 to Randolph-Macon College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Saturday on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
Randolph-Macon (8-8, 4-3 ODAC) used a steady dose of goal-scoring through each quarter to keep Averett (9-4, 4-4 ODAC) from coming back from a 6-3 first-quarter deficit.
Averett will await seeding to play out for the ODAC Tournament, which will begin with the first round on Saturday, April 29, with the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds hosting the No. 8 and No. 7 seeds, respectively.
Averett's top two goal scorers — graduate student
Elizabeth Peasley and sophomore
Faith Bowlin — produced all 11 the goals for the Cougars. Peasley totaled six goals against Randolph-Macon, while Bowlin had five. Peasley accounted for two assists to Bowlin, and Bowlin had one assist to Peasley.
Peasley also had a team-high seven draw controls for the Cougars.
