SWEET BRIAR, Va - Averett University women's tennis fell on the road to Sweet Briar College in its last regular season match 8-1 on Sunday.
Sweet Briar (15-7, 9-1 ODAC) swept all three doubles points from Averett (13-3, 8-2 ODAC) to take a 3-0 lead to head into singles. Junior
Daniela Poulakidas won the Cougars lone match at #5 with a 6-4, 6-0 over the Vixens' Kate Kotany.
Averett is back in action Tuesday when it hosts the University of Lynchburg in the first round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday. Averett is the No. 3 seed while the Hornets are the No. 6 seed.
