WINCHESTER, Va. — Averett University men's golf's B Team competed at the one-day, 36-hole Glory Days Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University on Monday at Winchester Country Club.
Senior
Fred Koskinen led the Cougars with a 5-over-par 149 to finish in a tie for 17 th on the par-72, 6,367-yard course. Shenandoah's Dan Ailor and Gettysburg College's Patrick Kilcoyne each tied for the top score with a 6-under 138 over two rounds. Ailor won the tiebreaker to earn medalist honors.
As a team, Averett finished a collective 45-over. The Cougars shot a 312 on the first 18 holes of the day and improved their score by three strokes on the second round. York College won the tournament with a team score of even-par.
Sophomore
Alexander Vidmo shot a 14-over 158, junior
Hunter Crute was two strokes back with a 16-over 160, freshman
Johnny Stewart was three strokes back with a 17-over 161 and freshman
Ryan Meadows shot 18-over. Averett junior
Alejandro Lucas Nielfa was also scheduled to compete but withdrew.
