DANVILLE, Va. - Averett University women's soccer fell at home to Shenandoah University 4-0 on Friday night.
Shenandoah (6-2-2, 1-1-1 ODAC) netted its first goal of the night early in the 17th minute of play. The Averett (4-4-2, 1-1-0 ODAC) defense held the Hornets scoreless the rest of the first half while defending 10 shots.
The Hornets used an offensive surge in the opening five minutes of the second half, scoring three goals and brining the final game score to 4-0.

Leah Brethren recorded the lone shot on goal for the Cougars while freshman
Krista Hinebaugh totaled six saves between the pipes.
Averett is back in action when it hosts the University of Lynchburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
