Women’s tennis concludes action at Belmont Abbey Invitational

BELMONT, N.C. – Averett University women's tennis continued their solid play on the last day of action at the Belmont Abbey Women's Invitational at Reidy Tennis Center. The Cougars faced off against players from the likes of North Carolina Wesleyan University and host Division II Belmont Abbey College, and impressed against both schools, winning a total of 14 matches.

Harshri Asher defeated I. Torres, 6-4, 5-7, 10-5

Brenda Poulakidas and Siddhi Khandelwal defeated L. Hendricks and Y. Gonzalez, 6-1
Harshri Asher and Dilara Sultanova defeated A. Govert and A. Steiner, 6-0
Dilara Sultanova defeated K. Calvet, 6-4, 6-1
Brenda Poulakidas defeated A. Steiner, 6-1, 6-1
Annika Kellerer defeated A. Govert, 6-2, 6-1
Elisa Battermann and Ravaka Ramanantoanina defeated L. Hendricks and T. Reid, 6-2
Sunna Maass and Siddhi Khot defeated M. Page and C. Bergmann, 6-0
Ravaka Ramanantoanina defeated T. Reid, 6-4, 6-0
Amelie Schroeder defeated Y. Gonzalez, 4-6, 6-1, 10-4
Elisa Battermann defeated M. Page, 6-3, 6-3

Over the two-day span, Averett combined to win 29 matches, including an unblemished record versus Belmont Abbey. 

The Cougars continue their fall slate with a dual scrimmage versus Division II Emory & Henry College, along with the men's tennis team. Play on Sunday, Oct. 13 is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
