ASHLAND, Va.—Averett University women's volleyball fell 3-2 in five sets to Randolph-Macon College on Friday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Randolph-Macon (10-7, 6-3 ODAC) took Set 1 and Set 2 25-11 and 25-23, respectively. Averett (11-13,5-4 ODAC) fought back to come from behind, taking Set 3 25-23 and winning Set 4 25-20 to force a fifth set. Averett kept it close in Set 5, before ultimately falling to the Yellow Jackets 15-7.

Allie Wilkerson each tallied nine kills for the Cougars' offense. Junior
Dayton Moore had a team-high 16 assists while freshman
Megan Litman had 11 assists. Fifth-year libero
Erin Gray carried the Cougars' defense with 21 digs, while junior
Rachel Green and Moore each had 14.
As a team, Averett had 44 kills, 38 assists and 79 digs.
The Cougars are back home on Oct. 26 when they face University of Lynchburg.
