PFAFFTOWN, N.C. — Averett University traveled to Wake Forest University for the first Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) show of the season on Sunday. Averett was awarded High Point Champion Team, and sophomore
Megan McClelland-Clayton was awarded High Point Rider for the day.
For Test rides, freshman Elize Idén started off with a very technical ride at First Level, placing fourth. Freshman Audrey Beckhardt followed her with another technical ride, placing third. For Upper Training Level, McClelland-Clayton and senior
Elyse Keeney both rode lovely tests, earning first place and third place, respectively. Lower Training Level rider and freshman Carly Williams had a beautiful ride and won first place. To wrap up Test rides, freshman Ashlee Study had a challenging ride at Introductory Level, placing fifth, and sophomore Allison White had a very strong ride winning first place.
For Dressage Seat Equitation (DSE), Beckhardt and Idén rode in First Level with two very pleasant rides, earning fifth place and first place, respectively. At Upper Training Level, Keeney and McClelland-Clayton rode strong and earned third place and first place, respectively. For Lower Training Level, freshman Mackenzie Joy and Williams had two fantastic rides, winning second place and first place, respectively. Finally, to end the show, Study and White rode at Introductory Level and placed fifth and second, respectively.
