The Series: Since the 1977-78 season, Averett is 4-5 all-time against Mary Washington. After not playing since 1981, the Eagles have won the last three meetings against Averett since 2022, including a 53-44 victory over the Cougars in Danville on Jan. 31, 2024.

Graduate student Jason Sellars II ranks seventh all-time on the Averett men's basketball rebounds list with 610 career rebounds after eclipsing that 600-rebound milestone on Saturday against Wisconsin-Whitewater. He also tied Cary Jenkins (1979-81) for seventh on the all-time list with his seven rebounds against N.C. Wesleyan. He's two boards away from sixth place, held by Marquis Scott (1009-13). Last season, Sellars became the 13th known Averett player to record 500 career rebounds. Hall of Famer Charles Bryant '17 holds the all-time rebounds record with 882 for his career.
