DANVILLE, Va. - Averett University women's basketball fell to University of Lynchburg at home on Wednesday 90-58.
Lynchburg (13-11, 8-9 ODAC) opened up the first quarter 26-16 and hitting six three-pointers. The Hornets three-point shooting success continued in the second quarter as they knocked down five of six attempted three-pointers to take a 56-26 lead into halftime. In the second half Averett's (4-20, 2-15 ODAC) offense stayed consistent by putting up 16 points in each frame while the Hornets put up 20 and 14 respectively.
Sophomore
Skylar Jones had a team-high 12 points, three Cougars scored eight points each while redshirt-freshman
Carmen Moore had a team-high seven rebounds.
Averett is back in action for its final game of the season Saturday at Bridgewater with a 2 p.m. tipoff
