CARY, N.C. - Averett University men's lacrosse fell in a rain-soaked tilt at William Peace University 10-3 on Wednesday.

Emmett Wood's goal assisted by junior
Brayton Powers at 11:34 in the first quarter. The Pacers answered just a few minutes later to even the game at 1-1 before scoring three-straight goals to take a 4-1 lead. Wood found the back of the cage for his second goal of the night with 5:34 left in the first half. Averett went into halftime trailing 4-2.
The Pacers opened the second half with back-to-back goals to take a four goal lead before junior
Dawson Hobbs scored a man-up unassisted goal with 4:05 left in the third. William Peace scored four straight goals to bring the final score to 10-3.
Wood had a team-high two points in the outing while Hobbs and Powers each tallied one point. Sophomore
Angel Pascual Roman had a career-high three caused turnovers. Sophomore goalie
Cameron Prutzman made 11 saves in the outing.
Averett is back in action when it hosts Otterbein University at 3 p.m. Monday.
