WINCHESTER, Va. - Averett University women's basketball fell 51-80 at Shenandoah University on Saturday.
Shenandoah (17-4, 2-12 ODAC) lead Averett (4-17, 2-12 ODAC) 17-11 after the first 10 minutes of play before taking a 32-18 lead into halftime. The Hornets scored 27 points in the third period before Averett's offense erupted for 24 points in the fourth quarter.

Natija Pate led the Cougars with 10 points while freshman
Jenkens Ervin had a second-best nine points. Sophomore

Jaa Brown each had a team-high five rebounds. Senior
Jihnez Hutchinson reached 400 career rebounds in the game.
Averett is back in action on Wednesday when it travels to No. 18 Washington and Lee University at 7:30 p.m.
