Siddhi Khot notched her first collegiate win to highlight the Averett University women's tennis team's 5-0 win over Roanoke College to open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Sunday morning in the first of two matches for the Cougars on the day.
Averett (1-1, 1-0 ODAC) rolled past Roanoke (2-5, 0-1 ODAC) in doubles play. At No. 1, junior

Siddhi Khandelwal battled to an 8-7 (7-4) win over Roanoke to complete the doubles sweep after sophomore
Brenda Poulakidas and freshman
Jennika Jaison won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles and the tandem of sophomore
Elisa Battermann and freshman
Dilara Sultanova blanked their opponents 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
With a 3-0 lead in the match, Averett only needed to win two singles matches to clinch. Khot got the first at No. 6 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0. Poulakidas then won her No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-0. The other four singles matches went unfinished as the Cougars earned the victory over the Maroons.
After the Roanoke match, Averett headed to nearby Hollins University for a matchup against Hollins later in the day.
