LYNCHBURG, Va. — Averett University women's tennis continued its unbeaten run in conference play as the Cougars defeated Randolph College.
Averett (3-3, 3-0 ODAC) swiftly and soundly took care of business against Randolph (5-4, 1-2 ODAC) with a decisive 8-1 victory.
The Cougars took each of the day's three doubles matches in convincing fashion, 8-1 in all three contests, setting the tone early on for how the day would go for the WildCats.
Averett's dominance continued well into singles play, where the Cougars came out victorious in five out of six matches. The freshman duo of
Annika Kellerer and
Amelie Schroeder rolled over their respective WildCat challengers without contest, with each earning a 6-0 victory for Averett. Sophomore
Elisa Battermann, freshman
Ana Herrera, and sophomore
Franka Keil each scored wins for the Cougars as well.
Its a short turn around for women's tennis, as Averett is back in action on Sunday, March 17 at 1 p.m. to take on Randolph-Macon College and look to extend its ODAC win-streak to four.
