SALEM, Va. — Averett University baseball fell 14-0 to Roanoke College on Wednesday night.
Sophomore
Hunter Whitlow went 1-for-2 on the day. Junior
Mason Williams went 1-for-3. Senior
Brandt Brophy and junior
Kevin Zischke both went 1-for-4.
Averett (4-16, 0-5 ODAC) had some pitching struggles early on. In the second inning, the Cougars gave up 11 runs. The Cougars slowed down the Maroons offense after the second, but Roanoke (8-11, 4-1 ODAC) steadily built its lead to 14-0 by the seventh inning. The Maroons tacked on an additional run in the eighth.
