GREENSBORO, N.C. — Averett University men's tennis defeated Guilford College 7-2 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action Sunday afternoon.
Averett (6-7, 5-2 ODAC) dropped No. 1 doubles, but took the other two matches to go up 2-1 entering singles play. Sophomore
Kazuki Fukushima and junior
Jaeden Mukkaladyil won 8-2 at No. 2, while sophomores
Sam Egui and
Martin Guyot held off their opponents 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
Although Guilford (8-7, 5-3 ODAC) won at No. 1 singles, Averett took the other five matchups in straight sets. Mukkaladyil won at No. 2, 6-3, 6-3. Egui, sophomore

Alex Rudy all won in straight sets as well.
Averett hosts University of Lynchburg on Wednesday in its final home match of the regular season.
