STAUNTON, Va. – Averett University women's soccer fought hard to earn a draw against the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin University.
Averett (1-1-2) and Mary Baldwin (1-3-1) played 90 minutes, with nothing separating the two squads as the final whistle sounded. The Cougars fired the opening salvo in the 51st minute as sophomore midfielder
Hailey Juhasz found the back of the net. The Fighting Squirrels answered immediately to bring the sides back even at 1-1. Mary Baldwin secured the next goal of the match just eight minutes later to take the lead. Averett equalized in the 64th minute as freshman

The Cougars return to the field on home turf as they play host to William Peace University on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m.
