DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's soccer fell to Randolph-Macon College in the 2024 Old Dominion Athletic Conference debut for the squad, 6-0.
Randolph-Macon (5-1-3, 2-0-0 ODAC) jumped out to an early advantage over Averett (1-4-2, 0-1-0 ODAC) with a goal just over two minutes into the game. The Yellow Jackets kept their foot on the gas, pulling to a 5-0 lead at the half. Halftime adjustments helped stifle the Randolph-Macon offense for the most part, as the Cougars tightened up on defense to concede just one second half goal.

The Cougars return to the pitch to take on Shenandoah University on the road in Winchester, Virginia, on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.
