DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University men's basketball had four players score in double figures as the Cougars rolled to an 86-66 conference win over Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday in the Grant Center.
Â
Averett (8-10, 3-6 ODAC) inched ahead early, but an 8-0 run midway through the first half gave the Cougars some initial distance on EMU (4-13, 1-8 ODAC). Redshirt freshman
Timayahs Bracey drained two 3-pointers as part of another 8-0 run by Averett to end the half and give the Cougars a 42-28 advantage.
Averett continued to find success offensively in the second half while shooting 54.7 percent from the floor for the game. Graduate student
Jason Sellars II put together his best game of the season with 20 points to go with eight rebounds — both of which propelled him up the Averett career lists for each. Sellars moved into 20th all-time in scoring and fifth all-time in rebounding.
Freshman

Jamison Graves added 15 points and Bracey finished with 13 points for the Cougars, who grew their lead to as many as 23 in the second half against the Royals.
