The Series: A long-standing rivalry has been in place between the two schools, as 72 games have been played between the in-state rivals. Ferrum leads the series 57-15 all-time, including winning three straight. Last time the teams faced off, the Panthers won a tight one, 61-57, in Ferrum in December of 2023. 
Averett at a Glance: Randolph-Macon College, receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com poll, came to the Grant Center for an afternoon matchup with Averett University women's basketball. Without key contributors available, the Cougars fought with might, but the visitors pulled away early, and defeated Averett by a final score of 67-34. Balanced scoring marks among Averett, Brianna Sams and Zariia America tied for the most points with seven each. Emma Jones posted a game-high six boards, to go along with six points. Brown kept her recent form of assists intact with three in the afternoon contest.
Ferrum at a Glance: Ferrum College women's basketball team dropped a tough ODAC contest to Shenandoah 57-44. In the second half, Shenandoah was able to pull ahead behind league leading scorer Terese Greene's 23 point effort. Shenandoah won the turnover battle, 21-14. The Panthers once again was led by a balanced attack. Freshman Maslyn Mosbacher and Martin each tallied eleven points.  Junior Allyson Cassell added 10 points. Sophomore Zy'Breayziah Alexander came off the bench and grabbed eight boards to lead the Panthers. Freshman Kleiauna Riddick also provided a bright spot with her five steals.
