FOREST, Va. — Averett University men's golf freshman
Chase Myers was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.
Myers, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, won his first event in only his second collegiate start when he took first place in the Glory Days Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University. It was a one-day, 36-hole shootout played at Winchester Country Club.
Myers parred his final hole to finish at 6-under-par and held on to win one stroke His second-round 66 tied for fifth in the program record book for lowest score in a single round, two behind the record of 64.
