BELMONT, N.C. – Averett University women's tennis won seven more matches during Friday's action at the Belmont Abbey College Invitational, highlighted by sweeping old USA South conference school Methodist University through five matches.

The Cougars started the morning with duals versus Belmont Abbey and Division II Wingate University. Sunna Maass starred versus the Crusaders, winning in both singles against Maddie Page, and partnered with Annika Kellerer to defeated Page and Rachel Flynn.

The early afternoon slate for Averett featured ties against Division II University of North Georgia and Methodist. Versus the Monarchs, Jennika Jaison and Harshri Asher went two for two in doubles and singles matches. Jaison, in particular, only dropped one game between the two bouts, including a 6-0, 6-0 rout of Methodist's Helen Boeshore.

The Cougars finish their fall slate with a trip to Salem College (N.C.) on Sunday, Oct. 12. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
