Harrisonburg, Va. — Averett University women's volleyball secured their second conference victory during a match against Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday.
The Cougars (5-15, 2-8 ODAC) defeated the Royals (5-16, 16 ODAC) 3-1 with scores of 25-18, 25-19, 19-25 and 25-14.
Junior Tahani Villines continued her stride by leading Averett with 16 kills. Senior Rachel Green had seven, while juniors Kadence Woodlief and Allie Wilkerson had six a piece.
Senior setter Dayton Moore recorded 18 assists for the Cougars, while fellow setter freshman Adeline Fortenberry trailed with 16.
Averett had a day on defense, tallying 67 total digs to hold off the Royals. Villines led with 18, while Woodlief, Fortenberry and sophomore Kyleigh Rains had 15, 13 and 10 respectively.
The Cougars hit the road on Tuesday when they travel to Lynchburg, Virginia to resume conference play against Randolph College at 6:30 p.m.
