FOREST, Va. — Averett University men's wrestling senior Xavier Swanson was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Wrestler of the Week for heavier weight classes, the league announced Monday.

Swanson, a 165-pounder from Chesapeake, Virginia, went 3-0 last week over three duals while being ranked No. 3 in the region by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. In a conference dual at Southern Virginia University, Swanson won by fall in the opening period. He also earned a win by first-period fall against Alvernia University, and won by a 10-2 major decision against Penn College of Technology.
