FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Averett University men's tennis lost a 7-0 decider at No. 25 University of Mary Washington to kick off its 2025 spring season.
Mary Washington (2-0), took all three doubles matches to clinch the first point of the day. Averett (0-1) gave it a quality fight in singles, in which two of the matches went to a deciding set.
Jaeden Mukkaladyil at No. 2 singles went three sets with the Eagles' Evan Fisher, but fell close in the third, 6-4. At No. 4,
Prabjeet Chandhok came back from a set down versus Albert Vladimirskiy, but lost the succeeding set, 6-3.
The Cougars wrap up their opening weekend in Fredericksburg, taking on Gettysburg College at a neutral site tomorrow morning, with matches slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
