DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University men's tennis opened up at the Averett Tennis Courts for the first time this spring, sweeping Randolph-Macon College 7-0 in its ODAC opener on Saturday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.
Averett (2-1, 1-0 ODAC) breezed through the doubles to clinch the first point, not dropping a game against Randolph-Macon (2-3, 0-2 ODAC).
A few Cougars came into singles with the lineup rearranged, and won in convincing fashion.
Sam Egui at No. 3 singles defeated Evan Holzmacher from the Yellow Jackets, 6-1, 6-2.
Roger Pamies Petit,
Alex Rudy, and
Martin Guyot did their part in the bottom half of the lineup, all winning by the 6-0, 6-0 margin.
Averett is back in tennis action next Saturday, Mar. 9, heading up north to Maryland to take on Salisbury University. Start time is set for 10:00 a.m.
