WINCHESTER, Va. — Averett University women's lacrosse fell to Shenandoah University 23-1 on Saturday.
Shenandoah (6-3, 2-0 ODAC) opened up the match scoring 12 goals in the first quarter. Senior
Faith Bowlin scored Averett's (1-2, 0-2 ODAC) lone goal of the afternoon as the result of a free-position shot. The Hornets were able to put four more goals into the back of the net during the second quarter, taking a 16-1 lead going into the second half.
Shenandoah scored seven goals in the second half, ultimately taking its first conference win of the season.

Gianna Minafo had three turnovers a piece, while Bowlin and sophomore
Cayden Holdsworth trailed with two each. Junior goalkeeper
Caitlin Alperstein recorded two ground balls and 13 saves.
The Cougars are back on Daly Field when they host Sweet Briar College on Saturday for their third ODAC match of the season at 4 p.m.
