LYNCHBURG, Va. – In the first of two ODAC contests on Friday afternoon, Averett University women's tennis and its squad swept through the University of Lynchburg in nearby Lynchburg.
Averett (8-3, 3-0 ODAC) got through doubles quick, taking each match 6-0 from Lynchburg (5-2, 2-1 ODAC) From there, the top three singles players of
Ravaka Ramanantoanina,
Jennika Jaison and
Brenda Poulakidas handled each opponent to get to the four-point mark.
With the match being played indoors, the rest of singles play stopped as the match was clinched.
Harshri Asher looked mighty at No. 4 singles, winning 7-5, 2-3 when the match halted.
Averett plays next on Tuesday, Apr. 1, heading up to in-state Salem to take on Roanoke College in a rescheduled ODAC match from March 16. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m.
