LEXINGTON, Va. — Averett University women's lacrosse suffered a conference shutout against No. 9 Washington and Lee University on Saturday, falling 25-0 to the Generals.
The Generals (13-4, 10-0 ODAC) opened up an early lead over the Cougars (4-6, 3-6 ODAC), scoring six goals within the first five minutes of play.
Junior Lisanne Guiaux and senior Porsha Davis had three ground balls a piece, while seniors Sheyla Romero and Celia de Diego each had one.
Davis continued to have a day on the Cougars' defense, adding on two caused turnovers. Guiaux and de Diego also recorded one each. Junior Caitlin Alperstein recorded eight saves in goal.
Averett closes out their 2025 season on home turf when they host Guilford College for a conference match Wednesday at 6 p.m.
