The Series: The Vixens and Cougars have played each other quite a bit in their history, with 14 total. Sweet Briar leads the series 8-6, but Averett has taken the past two straight, including a 5-0 sweep in last spring's ODAC tournament semifinals. 
Averett at a Glance: Averett swept Shenandoah last Saturday to win its eight match in the past nine tries. The Cougars were scheduled to also face Hollins University in a match Friday prior to playing Sweet Briar, but that non-conference match was canceled so Sweet Briar and Averett could play at 10:30 a.m. (originally 1 p.m.) before inclement weather hit the region.
Sweet Briar at a Glance: It was tightly contested, but Sweet Briar battled past Randolph, 4-3 on Wednesday.
