WINCHESTER, Va. – Averett University men's lacrosse was stymied at Shenandoah University in an away ODAC matchup, falling 22-1 on Saturday afternoon in Winchester, Virginia.
Dylan Taylor kicked the game off for Shenandoah (5-7, 2-3 ODAC), with just under four minutes passed. Averett's (4-8, 1-4 ODAC) offense was silenced, as the Hornets took every chance possible to capitalize, doing so with four more goals scored over the course of the first period. By the start of the second, Shenandoah led 5-0.
The Hornets rattled off 14 more scores over the next two periods, but
Tigran Ceesay prevented the shutout with a score, following his own ground ball pickup. Shenandoah netted a few more to wrap up the Saturday contest 22-1.
Ceesay had the lone score for the Cougars.
Giovanni D'Amico led the team in ground ball pickups with five, and freshman
Cory Habick caused two turnovers on the afternoon.
Zac Coleman won five faceoffs.

Robbie Isenhour managed 17 saves in the loss.
Averett faces Guilford College at home next Wednesday, April 9. Start time against the Quakers is set for 7 p.m.
