DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's tennis had four student-athletes earn a place on the 2025 Academic All-District Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators. Juniors
Harshri Asher and
Elisa Battermann and sophomores
Siddhi Khandelwal and
Dilara Sultanova each earned recognition for their success on the courts and in the classroom.

Asher, a native of Mumbai, India, went 8-5 in singles play, primarily at No. 4 singles and achieved a perfect 6-0 record in doubles with four different partners.Â
Battermann, a native of Zeist, Netherlands, appeared in 10 singles matches with an 8-2 record throughout and ending the season on a three-match winning streak. She also achieved a 16-2 mark in doubles with a 9-1 record at the No. 3 position. Battermann was awarded the Junior Female GPA Award at Averett's Night of Champions and received the team's service award.

Khandelwal, a native of Jaipur, India, totaled a 10-8 record in singles and primarily played at No. 2 with a 6-3 record. She tallied an 11-9 record in doubles matches as well. Khandelwal won against a nationally ranked opponent in singles versus No. 30/19 Allie Murrell of Washington and Lee on April 6. She was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 24 and again on April 7. Khandelwal was named Averett's Sophomore Freshman Athlete of the Year and was earned the Sophomore Female GPA Award at Averett's Night of Champions.
Sultanova, from Izmir, Turkey, posted an 8-5 record in singles matches, with almost all being played at No. 3, She accrued a 17-2 doubles record, with a 9-1 record playing at No. 3. In addition, she was awarded the Sophomore Female GPA Award at Averett's Night of Champions.
