The Series: Fortunes have favored the Pride in the all-time series, as Greensboro leads 31-17-1. In recent years, however, the Cougars have strung together momentum, winning their past three versus Greensboro. Last time the two former conference foes met, Averett won 2-1 in Danville in September of 2024. 
Averett at a Glance: Visiting Pfeiffer University snapped Averett's opening unbeaten win, downing the Cougars 3-0 last Wednesday at Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium. Despite the loss, Anibal Lopez continued a quality start to the fall, recording six saves for the second straight game.  
Greensboro at a Glance: Greensboro extended their unbeaten run to four, as the Pride played to a scoreless draw with visiting Berry College last Sunday. Goalkeeper Alvaro Hermosa earned his second shutout in a row, making five saves.
