Women's soccer falls to Guilford

DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University women's soccer lost its Saturday showdown against visiting Guilford College.

Averett (1-4-1) kept things competitive in the first half but ultimately fell short against Guilford (4-0-2) with the score 3-0 after 90 minutes of action. 

Junior Madie Pedraza and freshmen Isabella Kelly and Delaney Haymore each tacked on one shot to account for the Cougars three shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Tiia Chrons played solidly for the majority of the night as well, accumulating 11 saves in her defense of Averett's net.

The Cougars' conference slate kicks off on Wednesday at 5 p.m. as Averett hosts Roanoke College for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference clash.
