DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University women's soccer lost its Saturday showdown against visiting Guilford College.
Averett (1-4-1) kept things competitive in the first half but ultimately fell short against Guilford (4-0-2) with the score 3-0 after 90 minutes of action.

Tiia Chrons played solidly for the majority of the night as well, accumulating 11 saves in her defense of Averett's net.
The Cougars' conference slate kicks off on Wednesday at 5 p.m. as Averett hosts Roanoke College for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference clash.
