Men’s lacrosse finalizes 2026 schedule with times

| By:
DANVILLE, Va. –Averett University men's lacrosse released its 2026 schedule, with third-year head coach Bryan Habick looking to make the jump in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this year with a revamped roster.

"This season will be another chance for us to show progress. In the two years that I've been here, we have only made this program better, and there's still a long way to go, but I think people will be surprised with how we play throughout 2026," Habick said. "We have some big-time games lined up against teams who will sleep on us, and games against nationally ranked opponents that will not expect us to be as good as we are. This team will do something special this Spring, and it will be up to the players on how it gets done."

The Cougars open on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. with a first-time matchup with the Savannah College of Art and Design in their annual Lacrosse Out Cancer Game at Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium. A number of themed games are featured for Averett this spring, including the Wendell Scott Game against Methodist University on March 4, the Indigenous People's Game on March 21 against Randolph, and Military Appreciation Day versus Virginia Wesleyan on Apr. 4.

Senior Day comes around on Apr. 11, with Shenandoah University coming to town.

The Cougars' ODAC opener is at Daly Field on March 18, facing off against the University of Lynchburg. The ODAC tournament is slated to begin on Apr. 27.
